The Seanachie Irish Pub is the culmination of years of research through our experiences travelling abroad and operating three Traditional Public Houses (pubs) in Calgary.

When owners Allan Dixon and Mike Kuzyk sat down to design The Seanachie Irish Pub, their goal was to take the authenticity of old Ireland and meld it with what we know Calgarians expect from their “local.”

Let us tell you a story! A story about a place called The Seanachie (Story Teller) Irish Pub.

Our story starts in an old Irish Cottage, complete with a slate floor covered by a rug to keep it cozy, a roaring fire and big harvest table for that country style meal.

We then move to Waxy’s Shoppe, bright and well lit with a stunning four-sided booth where you can have a quiet meal with old friends or meet new friends over a pint.

A short walk takes you to the Harp! A charming room highlighted by an incredible circa 18th century Harp. This masterpiece from Ireland is displayed in a custom made cabinet that showcases its brilliance.

From the Harp we move to the Donegal, a few steps up. Surrounded by a striking collection of ornate china and brick-a-brack, this Victorian style room has all the warmth and prestige of 18th Century Irish Aristocrats.

The Brian Boru room, named after the 11th century Irish King features an elegant fireplace, access to the bar, cozy snugs and a 50” Plasma TV to catch the action.

The final destination in our journey is what makes all Irish Pubs what they are, the bar. Our bar was custom made in Ireland and shipped piece by piece across the Atlantic.

This solid mahogany gem is magnificent in every sense. Guarded by hand carved Cherubs (Angels helpers) the bar has 30 seats, each that give a distinct and unique view of the pub.

The Seanachie Irish Pub’s menu gives you all the choices you would ever want. From Boxty, (a traditional Irish potatoe pancake) and hearty stews to steaks and burgers, salads and a selection of appetizers that are unmatched, we offer a superb meal for all.
